SHOP is open and I'm baaaaack!

I can't believe it's been MONTHS since I've blogged! I've been so busy with school and my research blog I haven't had time for the stuff I LOVE!

Shop is open again! This time I'm on Etsy and I really like it so far. So much easier to use and looks so nice!!!

New Shop Link! CLICK HERE!

I have been making felted wool dryer balls! They're so awesome! I'll write a whole post soon about these.

In the mean time, I wanted to highlight something I've been thinking about!

I have hand blended, hand pulled roving in my shop. I LOVE to see what people have spun with fiber that I've made.

My plan is to feature finished yarn from spinners when they order my fiber! I think it will be cool to show what someone can do. When I look at something, I may picture it in my head, but I want to see the genius of others and what they can do!

Here's some of the roving I have listed!

Oh HAI blog!

WOW...I can't believe I haven't posted since June of last year. This is quite embarrassing!

So what's new in my world? School, well that's not new...just keeps me reeeeaaaally busy!

I'm knitting now! I taught myself how to knit and I LOVE it. I wanted to learn how to knit so I can knit my own socks...and I've knitted several pairs of socks :)

I bought my first wheel this past month! I bought a Kromski Prelude, and she's beautiful! She has been formally named Clementine.

I have some plans for some posts coming up including:

  1. How a crocheter learned how to knit.
  2. Tips for putting together the Prelude
  3. Using Linseed oil on the unfinished wheel
  4. Sewing a basket liner
Of course, I haven't made the basket liner yet, so if it's a terrible disaster....I won't bore you with a post. :)

I closed my shop several months ago. It made me really sad to do that, but I just don't have the time, space, or money to keep it going right now. Maybe someday I'll open it back up. :)

Mainly my ideas for this blog will be my crafting adventures....since I always have something in the making!

BUSY!!!!!!

I have been so BUSY that I forgot to blog about being busy. :) I'm not used to having a blog about......well.....anything!

Lord DTac (haha) took me to Great Lakes Fiber show. Not necessarily a good idea......

From left to right: 3 1/2lb bags of ecru merino roving, 5.8oz of a beautiful peachy colors merino roving, 2.2oz of green/tan Corriedale roving, a braid of superwash merino in the most gorgeous colors, 2 2oz balls of mohair/romney roving, and two little pieces of merino roving!

It was VERY hard to leave. What was especially nice: being around so many people that share the same passion in fiber. VERY cool. Some people's eyes glaze over when I start talking about YARN.

YARN?????? OMG who cares...... wellllllll when I show someone this:

Well, you can obviously see why I love yarn so much. "Glorious Morning Shawl" This pic was taken after I got all of the blocking pins in. I dyed this yarn as well. Colorway is called "What's your poison?"

And all that fluff in the first pic????? Well, that gets made into yarn.

This is fiber I spun into yarn on a top whirl drop spindle.......and yes, I made that spindle myself :)

DISCLAIMER: To my fiber friends......I know you all know about everything I just posted. I am just sharing :)
